Rotterdam is a big port city in the Netherlands and is located in the province Zuid-Holland on to the Maas. The harbor of Rotterdam is one of the biggest and most important harbors of the world. In the harbor of Rotterdam many transport is coming in and going out every day with oil as the most important product. Many big company´s are located close to the harbor to make export and import easier.
Rotterdam has an inhabitancy of 603.25 and the city has a surface of 319.35 kilometers. Rotterdam is also known as a city with many architecture. In world war two many historic buildings in the centre of Rotterdam where destroyed and there was much space for new buildings. Compared to other old cities in Holland Rotterdam is a very new city with many modern buildings and skyscrapers which is why Rotterdam is known as an international architecture city.
When you feel like shopping the city centre of Rotterdam is the place to be. The ´Koopgoot´, the lijnbaan,hoogstraat en the mall plaza are the best shopping areas of the centre. The stores are every Friday night open till 21.00h. and the rest of the week till 18.00h. except for Saturday when the stores are open till 17.00h.
There are many things to see and do in Rotterdam, you can go clubbing, shopping, dining, visit a museum or attractions that the city offers.
